Vety busy and not been around here much seeing as we didn't go France 'vanning in 2008, due mainly to a nose diving £ to Euro rate and nose bleedingly high deisel prices. Crying or Very sad

Cheaper to take packages so we did:

Holiday to Zante June 26 'til 10 July.

Holiday to Crete Aug 29 'til 13 Sept.

However, one "knackered Navara" (well documented elsewhere including knackerednavara.com) so not much caravanning 6 May 'and STILL off the road ! (Dont ask) Evil or Very Mad

Next year? Who knows? We might ALL be skint NEXT WEEK, unless the Yanks sort out the "Mega Loan" plans!

.........Would like normal service to resume - I love 'vanning in France! Cool

Cool

Hi all.

Well Val a busy lady, all these trips,

I have just spent the past week, making fires, cutting trees and early evening taking cuttings from plants for next year, potted them all up now for the winter.

We have just arranged our holidays from the 19th December, until the 27th. although Vicent will be here - would have loved to stay for longer, but eldest is away with friends in the lake district for new year, and youngest son has rented out our room, so hence staying with Garrys mom for christmas then back here for the new year.

But guess who is cooking christmas dinner for them all on christmas day........and its not Garry..........

Weve just come in now at 7.30pm, still only in jumpers, still quite warm.
Garry has just fitted me a light in the new greenhouse he built for me, just so I can stay out of his way a little longer, and guess he thinks I'm working.

Well we are getting away but not in the van

Courtesy of Ryanair
We have just done Venice on a budget and are planning a slighlty longer sojourn in January for my birthdya to Pisa

so far Ryanair have had less than the cost of a single flight to Pisa for all of the flights Laughing

Just going to put the pictures from Venice here when I get them off the laptop

For us it is quiet, caravanning wise. Very quiet.

We winterised our 'van a few weeks ago. This was earlier than usual due to crappy UK weather and my tow car being off the road, long term. Our 'van is all cleared out, drained down, washed, polished and now under cover until next March, when I'll get it back out for the annual service, before going away for Easter. Maybe even earlier, if the weather is good.

After the continued trouble since May, finally, our tow car has now gone and good riddence. we can now draw a line under that little saga. Phew!

Our new car should arrive on Tuesday. We're getting a 2008 Kia Sorento Titan auto. Over the next few weeks, I'm planning on getting a built in sat nav and a tow bar fitted. It will then be "fully loaded".

In the meantime, we are quite busy at work, but I am worried at the prospect of my business facing YET ANOTHER recession. If it happens, I hope and pray that we can survive it. The prospect of the alternative at 54 years of age, doesn't bare thinking about.

Roll on better times, for all of us.

Hope the built in sat-nav is easier to use than the one in the Skoda
that's why I'm sticking with the Tom Tom Navigator 6 on my PDA

but then again it has the advantage of going in my pocket when walking and can give me walking route directions which was very handy in Venice

just of to sort out some new tyres forthe van now
